1.23.04. 9.30am.

a regular kinda guy.

here's my average morning, tuesday through friday. i catch the bus at haight and masonic going downtown, and hope i don't get the bus driver i call "whistler's mother." (why, you ask? because he whistles, godammit, real loud!) i get off at new montgomery, maybe drop a letter in the mail box, and on the way to the office, i stop at specialties, where the nice young man behind the counter sees me and says, "chocolate chip cookie?"

because, you see, they make excellent cookies at specialties, and if you go in the morning they have the day-old tray, which are almost just as good, and only cost six bits. and so i buy one, maybe two, almost every tuesday, wednesday, thursday and friday morning. (why not monday, you ask? well, they were closed on sunday, so the day-olds are actually two days old, and that's no good for anyone).

and now the nice young man knows me. he still has to ask - he's not at the point yet where he has the bag waiting for me. but it's funny to have a routine. i feel like they should shout "norm!" when i walk in. and i recognize people on the bus in the morning too. it's almost like living on campus again... it's nice. and also very very silly.

in other news, you may have noticed i haven't updated in awhile. if so, give yourself a gold star for sleuthing. it's just because... well, no good reason. just haven't had much to say. i'm working at gymboree again! cute cute kids. and i'm thinking about design schools, and doing some design. and... you know. stuff.

see? aren't you glad i'm back?
