the kindness of strangers.
i had a pretty shitty day today. a few things that made it better:
dublin mudslide ice cream, by ben and jerry's. great stuff.
mary poppins, which is one of the loveliest movies ever.
when my car wouldn't start, and i was late, and it was raining, i waved at a man in a red pickup driving by, and he pulled over, and i said, "hey, my battery's dead, could you give me a jump?" and he said, "sure thing," and pulled his car around so the front of his truck was pointed the right way, and i jumped my car, and i said, "thank you so much!" and he said, "no problem, it's happened to me plenty of times," and he drove off. there aren't many things these days where you can flag down a stranger and they'll take three minutes to help you out of a jam, for no reason other than that people can be nice sometimes. go, people.
